AI systems that give you your time back — and keep working as you grow.
I'm Jamie — a senior engineer working directly with you. I build AI and software that takes the admin off your plate, on clean architecture that scales as you grow. Clear scope, clear price, no surprises.
Software and AI, delivered by the person who builds it.
From a single landing page to the AI infrastructure behind your whole operation. Pick what fits and I'll prefill it on the form — so I know exactly what you need.
Get found inside AI answers, not just search results. I structure your content and data so ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity cite you when your customers ask.
Example: Reworked a SaaS site's content and schema so it started turning up in AI answers for its core buying questions.
Design, copywriting, hosting, and maintenance in one pair of hands. A fast, on-brand page that converts — and stays current without you chasing anyone.
Example: Designed, wrote, and now host a product launch page — one point of contact for copy tweaks and uptime.
Hand the repetitive work to software. I connect your tools and automate the boring steps — with AI where it earns its place, plain code where it doesn't.
Example: Automated invoice intake and follow-ups for a small firm, saving roughly half a day of admin each week.
The foundation that makes AI useful across your business — knowledge bases, retrieval, and the plumbing that keeps models grounded in your own data.
Example: Built a private knowledge base and retrieval layer so a team's assistant answers from their docs instead of guessing.
A straight second opinion on where AI fits — and where it doesn't. We find the few use cases worth doing and skip the hype that burns budget.
Example: Reviewed a startup's AI roadmap and trimmed it to the two features that actually moved the numbers.
Someone technical to keep a build on track — scope, timelines, and contractors coordinated, with honest status you can act on.
Example: Ran delivery on a multi-vendor web build, keeping scope and timeline aligned all the way to launch.
Web apps and systems built to last: fast, accessible, documented, and easy to change. Clean architecture today means cheap changes tomorrow.
Example: Shipped a custom client portal on clean, documented architecture the team can extend themselves.
Build the channels that bring work in — referral systems, outreach, and the tooling behind them — so growth isn't only word of mouth.
Example: Set up a referral and outreach system that gave a consultant a repeatable source of new enquiries.
Less admin. Systems that hold up.
What working together actually changes — for the business and for the tech behind it.

I'm writing up recent projects now. In the meantime, tell me what you're working on — I'm happy to share relevant examples directly.

I'm Jamie Nisbet, a software engineer and AI consultant based in Portugal. I've spent years building software for the web, and I now design AI systems meant to run for the long term — well-defined, documented, and built to scale, not bolted-on demos that break a month later.
I work as a small shop on purpose. You deal with the person writing the code, so decisions are quick and nothing gets lost in translation. For bigger builds I bring in trusted contractors — you keep the responsiveness and gain the capacity.
Most of what I build has one job: take the admin and busywork off your plate, so your time goes back to the business and its customers. I care about doing the useful thing, explaining the why, and being straight about trade-offs and cost. If something's a bad idea, I'll tell you.
Portugal
- You talk to the person building it — no agency layers, no account managers.
- Clear scope and a clear price before we start; changes are a conversation, not a hidden line item.
- I'm honest about trade-offs, cost, and what I don't know — I'd rather under-promise.
- Built on clear, documented architecture — it scales as you grow and it's yours to keep, no lock-in.
- One person you can reach, with contractors on standby for bigger builds.
Let's talk about your project.
Tell me what you're trying to do. I'll reply within a day or two with a few questions or, if it's a fit, a way forward. No hard sell.
My standard rate is €120/hour, usually quoted as a fixed price for the scope — with options, so you can pick what fits.
